The Rage Broadhead

by Jake Schlangen

How can you not be wondering if the Rage broad head is the one to use? You see all the guys on T.V. using them and a lot of people you know use them as well. Are they all they are cracked up to be?
I have been using the Rage broad heads for 2 hunting seasons now and have shot probably 10 animals with them and have had great results. The huge cutting diameters of both the two and three blade models give you great blood trails.   You couple that with the mechanical design of the broad head that gives you field point accuracy and you can see why they are some of the most popular heads out on the market. Unlike old style fold over mechanical heads, the rage use a slip lock cam design which greatly reduces lose of energy when the broad heads hit their target and gives you superior penetration. But there is one thing that a lot of people complain about and I agree with this often stated problem. Every time you take an arrow out of the quiver to nock you must check to see if blades are locked in. They sometimes fall out of the lock in groove and must be reset to assure proper flight. So there are pros and cons to the Rage broad heads. You will just have to outweigh the advantages and disadvantages but the massive wounds these broad heads inflict certainly will make you think twice.
